“Solving Problems of the Foot and Ankle,” a free presentation, open to the public, will be held Wednesday, Sept. 4, 6 to 7:30 p.m., at The University of Arizona Medical Center – University Campus, DuVal Auditorium, 1501 N. Campbell Ave., Tucson. Light refreshments are provided.
Treatment options for foot and ankle problems have expanded greatly over the past few years. Newer treatment alternatives which preserve motion and allow rapid return to activities will be discussed by L. Daniel Latt, MD, PhD, assistant professor and director of clinical research, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, UA College of Medicine – Tucson; clinical director, UA Interdisciplinary Consortium on Advanced Motion Performance (iCAMP); and assistant professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering, UA College of Engineering.
Dr. Latt is an expert in the treatment of foot and ankle problems including disorders of cartilage, ligaments and tendons and the treatment of complex deformities of the lower extremity. He has a special interest in the treatment of ankle arthritis using total ankle replacement. His current research interests include the use of ultrasound in the diagnosis and treatment of tendon problems of the foot and ankle.
The lecture is part of the “Living Healthy with Arthritis” series of monthly talks presented by the University of Arizona Arthritis Center.
